Following the release of official data showing US consumer prices rose 3.3% y/y in May, down from 3.4% in April, and core inflation rose 3.4%, slowing down from 3.6%, US stock indices rose on Wednesday.
The Federal Reserve is also expected to announce its policy decisions later today, with a widely anticipated decision to maintain interest rates unchanged.
Nonetheless, it is anticipated that the Fed will shortly announce the start of the next cycle of policy easing.
As of 17:13 GMT, the Dow Jones was up 0.2%, or 92 points, to 38,839 in trade. The S&P 500 was up 1.1%, or 60 points, to 5435, while the NASDAQ was up 1.8%, or 307 points, to 17,648.
