The Number of Tariffs Increased

Trump recently stated that China was not going to change its policy regarding the purchase of US intellectual property. After that, the head of the White House instructed the US trade representative to choose Chinese goods worth $200 billion to introduce an additional import fee of 10%. This position of Donald Trump was supported by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who maintains that all calls for China's openness to foreign economies are fiction and the current decision to tighten duties is long overdue. Therefore, investors expect the start of a protracted trade war of attrition.

Energy prices continue to trade near monthly lows prior to the OPEC meeting. It is known that a meeting between the oil-exporting countries will be held in Vienna this week and that Iran insists that no changes are required, while Russia supports increasing quotas by 1.5 million barrels a day. As a result, countries will rather seek a compromise and discuss a possible increase in production in the range of 300-600 thousand barrels per day.
